Printed Saree

Each saree becomes unique depending on the way the six yards are used. From simple handlooms to multiple prints a wide palette is available globally. A printed saree is the result of the new technology in textiles that can produce mass designed sarees in different colors and textures for consumption. This allows the consumer to get a good design and color at attractive rates. Even designers have limited editions of printed sarees. One can get a polka dotted print to an abstract art print in fabrics like chiffons, georgettes, crepe, satin cotton and even polyester. In the past, traces of dying and printing process were fund in Indus Valley Civilization. Mordents were used to dye the fabric or to colour cloth to make sarees. Today the techniques have changed with technology. A brand like Satya Paul has managed to bring limited edition of surrealistic prints. They have managed to have an auction of printed sarees which were based on five cricket themes- It has a saree of flags of all cricketing nations, red cherry which had seemed borders in red and white like the ball, jaffa, signatures of all cricket legends and newsprint of articles on cricket.
